Fans of Emily in Paris are buzzing about the upcoming season, but one question is lingering: What’s the fate of Gabriel, the charming French chef played by Lucas Bravo? While season five is set to take Emily (Lily Collins) to Rome, Gabriel is notably missing from the trailer, leaving viewers wondering if his story is over.
In an exclusive interview with E! News, Lucas Bravo addressed his absence from the Emily in Paris season five trailer but remained tight-lipped about his character’s future. “I would love to tell you something,” he teased, before quickly adding, “but I’m going to keep the conversation running.” Bravo chose not to reveal whether his absence signifies a permanent departure, offering only a coy, “I’m not in it.”
Gabriel’s Future Remains a Mystery
Lucas Bravo, who sparked some controversy earlier by admitting that playing Gabriel in previous seasons had become “not fun” for him, hasn’t confirmed or denied his permanent exit. Fans have long been invested in the on-again, off-again relationship between Gabriel and Emily, making his absence in the season five trailer all the more intriguing.
The 37-year-old actor also acknowledged that his mysterious role in season five, along with Emily’s relocation to Italy, is fueling speculation. The season will also feature returning favorites like Ashley Park (Mindy), Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello), and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), but fans are especially eager to know if Gabriel will make an appearance.
Lucas Bravo Talks The Seduction
While keeping quiet about Emily in Paris, Bravo did share insights into his upcoming role in The Seduction, a French-language drama on HBO Max. Based on the classic novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, Bravo plays Gercourt, a character who wasn’t originally central to the book. The actor relished the opportunity to bring a new spin to a classic role, calling the creative challenge exciting.
“I had the opportunity to completely start from scratch and add a little bit of paint to something that’s been so established and well-known for years,” Bravo explained. “It was exciting to rewrite something that is already a classic and explore a character that is completely insane.”
As for Emily in Paris, viewers will have to wait until December 18 to find out if Gabriel’s absence in the trailer means he’s gone for good. What do you think—will Gabriel return, or is this the end of his Parisian journey?
